Based at the north end of Barton Broad (about 10 miles north of Wroxham), Barton Turf Adventure Centre is a family run sailing school, adventure activity and environmental studies centre. We have 17 acres of reed marsh available for pond dipping days, birdwatching and other field studies. We're part of a Ramsar-designated wetland and Site of Special Scientific Interest
The Centre is part of the Broads Environmental Education Network.

Major Events This Year

23 May - Go Wild at Barton Turf
Celebrate International Biodiversity Day learning about the special wildlife of the Broads. For a great family day out why not 'Go Wild at Barton Broad' joining in with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and Broads Authority fun-packed day at Barton Broad? Get the low down on Norfolk's wildlife from the experts and get close to nature on wildlife trails. Try pond dipping and watch what you've caught on video microscope or get creative with art and craft activities. You can make mini beast homes, bird or butterfly feeders or bat boxes. Refreshments will be available. Listen to storytellers and see a Nutmeg Puppet Show, 'Pip's Wildlife Garden'. There will also be opportunities to try out canoeing or take a boat trip on the Broad.
NB Only some of the site is suitable for wheelchair users.

23 May - North Norfolk Worm Charming championship
Why not try your hand at charming the worms from the ground. This is an exciting competition run at the centre alongside 'Go Wild'. Suitable for all the family; read the rules before you come and get ready to charm those worms!
